CLM-0061 · Content

After a long period of preparatory austerities (kegyō), the initiand enters the altar (nyūdan), throws a flower onto the mandala, has water poured over his head, and is entered in a lineage of masters (ajari). The rite derives from an Indian royal consecration, and its secrecy makes it a mark of exceptional status within the institution.
